Pantera that was delivered to Ford Executive

Can anyone elaborate on the Pantera that was delivered to the Ford Executive? Supposedly his kids took the car out for a joy ride and crashed it? Is this just folklore or did it really happen? Do you know the month / year, what color the car was, any details, who the Executive was, etc? When Ford ordered a car that was a staff pool vehicle and not for retail sales, what did they generally do with them? Auto shows, advertising, etc? Would the Ford Executives car have been ordered that way from the factory? As a staff vehicle? Thanks, Ed

They now have , I think, salvage title to the Pantera. The insurance company wants to make money and/or minimize their loss on the claim so they are interested in selling it for whatever it will bring through Copart, who, I suspect, will get a cut of the action. So, IF I understand the situation the Pantera won’t be scrapped, but it will have it’s title marked SALVAGE or the Louisiana equivalent. So, assuming that you bought the Pantera, it would be all ready to be parted out. It would be difficult to restore it and then try to sell it with a Salvage Title, AFAIK. Mine is a useful mount for my amplifier in the front trunk. And I have enough room left over for a few cleaning supplies and car duster. :-) Luggage goes on the girlfriend's lap doesn't it? But seriously, the kit does come with stiffeners underneath as well so when all 4 are combined doesn't that help in the overall stiffness? And I have enough room left over for a few cleaning supplies and car duster. :-) Luggage goes on the girlfriend's lap doesn't it? But seriously, the kit does come with stiffeners underneath as well so when all 4 are combined doesn't that help in the overall stiffness? I am currently working on the front trunk area and I am trying to figure out the best way to mount the triangular upper brace (the part sold by Precision ProFormance). The mounting plates have four bolt holes but it looks like I would not be able to get bolts to work as they would conflict with the upper suspension mounting rail. I am thinking the best solution may be to plug weld those holes from the trunk side. Can anyone share their experience installing these plates?
