[DeTomaso] "All metal" Shifter - Improvement?

The reason Dennis sells this as a two-part kit is I believe because (at least on my GT5) the shaft is machined to accept an imperial rod end rather than sourcing the correct diameter metric rod end.

Pantera Performance Center sells a replacement bearing and rod that was one of the better upgrades on both my car and Lori’s. Although I suppose one could get away with just the bearing alone, they include a rod with a hardened end.
