[DeTomaso] Strange electrical - instrument / dash light problem

Any electrical modifications done to the car, like addition of relays for the lights?
I can only think of a relay feeding the instrument lights and the ground to the coil being connected to high beam.
That can be tested by removing the high beam fuse and check if the gauges lights up at all.
