My recollection of the headlight switch is there are a great number of hot posts on it. Maybe someone replaced the switch and plugged the dash lights onto the wrong post?

    Good morning,
72 Pre-L Headlights work as designed.
Dash lights work as designed when low beams are on.
When you turn high beams on the instrument & dash lights turn off.
Turning low beam lights back on turns instrument and dash lights back
    on.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
