[DeTomaso] Values of cars

The easy answer, Ken, is that Web resolution and TV images will only give you a foundation of the research that should be done. 

With auctions (or buying from an individual or dealer), you really need to put eyes on the car - whether they be yours, another Pantera owner or an appraiser.  Whenever I run across someone who wants to purchase a Pantera, I ALWAYS recommend they contact Mike Drew. Mike’s melon is so packed with DeTomaso info and know how, I’m surprised his brain remembers to tell his heart to pump!!

At Mecum’s L.A. auction a few weeks ago, I got to look at a ‘74 that was going across the block on Saturday. The photos of the car made it look really good, but up close and personal, it was an ‘80s restoration in need of a lot of work.
