Just another data point...   

#4033 has the all mesh engine screen that curves down at the front with the lip that goes into a groove in the body.  There is no raised section in the middle for the air cleaner.  
I believe this to be the original screen. It's been on the car since at least the prior owner's acquisition in 1978.
