[DeTomaso] Rear Glass

It would be a private site. Login required and I could host it on the POCA site or I have a "Dreamhost" ISP that is
excellent. The problem is getting people to contribute to it. Also KISS. "Keep It Simple Stupid" to use.

I am in our ORT (Operation Readiness Test) for EDL (Entry, Descent and Landing) on InSight. So I will have breaks
between total boredom and shear terror. ;-) For the next 2 days. I will think about it more. MediaWiki is driven
by a MySQL database which would be easy to move if necessary.

I might set one up as a sandbox for people to play in, just to experiment.

Terry,

I agree that a wiki approach for the Pantera would be great. Are you suggesting adding topics to the global wikipedia are creating a private wiki site?

Imagine if each of us could put in particular mods with part numbers and a brief description of function/fit and the site was organized by system (cooling, suspension, glass, transmission, brakes, A/C, interior, exterior, electrical, etc.) and part (brake rotor, caliper, brake lines, master cylinder, brake fluid).

I often wondered what all my options are for rebuilding a certain component of my car (and I am close to having addressed every one of them so far) and probably could have saved some time and money if such a knowledge base existed. I certainly would have been able to make better decisions along the way, at least when I did not pose a question to the group here..

Ya kow.. you guys are a encyclopedia of Pantera tribal knowledge. I was thinking, since our Pantera's are going
to be around for a long time we should start WikiPedia for Pantera's. The MediaWiki it's is built on is free. I set one
up for JPL and we use it to capture the same kind of tribal knowledge about spaceflight. Hmmmm? Internally we
don't need it monitored and everyone is authenticated. But on the Internet it would have to be monitored. I think
I head that Wikipedia gets 7000 updates every hour, 24/7. (I might not remember correctly, but a lot) It wouldn't
be open to the public, but probably should use the POCA login. ?

Thoughts?

I'm glad jack reminded us. It's Ron Wade who sells double rear windows--presumably two pieces of safety glass. Your glass shop can probably replicate that though?

   problems.
A And you get to choose whether the secondary pane protrudes into the
A cockpit or into the engine bay. The distance is about 1/4" so its no

   Terry,
I agree that a wiki approach for the Pantera would be great. Are you
suggesting adding topics to the global wikipedia are creating a private
   wiki site?
Imagine if each of us could put in particular mods with part numbers
and a brief description of function/fit and the site was organized by
system (cooling, suspension, glass, transmission, brakes, A/C,
interior, exterior, electrical, etc.) and part (brake rotor, caliper,
brake lines, master cylinder, brake fluid).
I often wondered what all my options are for rebuilding a certain
component of my car (and I am close to having addressed every one of
them so far) and probably could have saved some time and money if such
a knowledge base existed. I certainly would have been able to make
better decisions along the way, at least when I did not pose a question
   to the group here..
