I had essentially the same thing happen to me last year.

Clutch worked great when first driven,but after an hour or so of driving it would get less travel at the slave.If the car was sitting,not being driven i could engage the clutch multiple times and the travel would decrease after several engagements.The master was not warm at all.I think it might have been a seal that somehow changed as it was used.Just a wild guess at this point.

Replaced the slave,red hose and bled the system MANY times to no avail.Out of frustration more than anything else, since it did not seem logical, i replaced the clutch master and it fixed the problem.

PS,for what it is worth,get a good Italian master,not a chinese copy that some vendors have.
