 Two people that I know of have taken the time to test AND publish their results,  Several of the Swedish club members did tuft-testing on a Pantera with a camera car following, and found that at lower speeds (below 100 mph), air flow was OUTWARD from unducted side scoops. This is probably due to the main air flow thru the radiator, under the floor and out the rear window opening being strongly influenced by the massive low pressure area created by our sugar-scoop decklids.

And Mike Anderson in Indiana, once a mainstay of Silver State runners, did some of the same work using his twin-engine private airplane as an airflow source. Mike was trying to validate his use of the stock Pantera A/C condenser position for a huge oil cooler with a dry-sump system. All this was published in various POCA Newsletters in the past.
