Same thing happened to me. State Farm sucks, USAA has great service, but I
do not insure the Pantera through their American Collectors connection.
There are better deals for the Pantera.

Chuck,
A A My sister was married to a State Farm agent, so our entire family,
my
A A parents, my brother, and I all had everything covered with State
Farm.
A A That was five houses, 10 cars, two boats, lives, umbrellas,
jewelry,
A A etc. A In the 1990s and seven years after I joined the "family
plan" and
A A after having NEVER made a single claim, I received a letter from
State
A A Farm saying they would no longer insure my Pantera. A I reminded
them
A A that my brother-in-law was my agent, and I had three cars, two
houses,
A A and a boat, and other stuff insured with them. A I said I'd have
to move
A A all of my business and would encourage my family to do the same if
they
A A dropped the Pantera. A They said, "Have a nice day."
A A I was (still am) an Air Force reservist, so a friend at my unit
A A suggested USAA. A I've seen paid one-third of what State Farm was
A A charging me across the board. A USAA's underwriter for "hobby"
cars is
A A American Collectors. A I've never broached the racing thing with
them,
A A but I have 2,500 mile limit. A The year I drove to the POCA Rally
in
A A Vegas, I called about paying for more milage--the trip was going
to be
A A more than 2,500 miles by itself. A They said no problem because it
was a
A A Pantera event, and no charge. A On the way back, a rock from a
truck
A A broke my windshield, so I made a claim figuring I was going to get
A A slammed. A No change in rate the next year. A State Farm did me a
huge
A A favor.
A A Richard
A A Austin, TX
