>>>Oh yeah, for sure!
This just illustrates the point that if you want a car like this, you are
way, WAY better off buying one that's already done. This guy has a
buy-it-now price of $140K, and judging by the appearance of the car, he may well has
spent that much on it. But there's no way he's going to get anywhere near
that much for it if he sells it--he's going to take a financial beating.
If somebody has infinitely deep pockets, and more importantly, plans on
keeping the resulting car forever, he can perhaps justify going to somebody
like Don Byars and having a car built like that, to his exact specifications,
with every bell and whistle imaginable. Regardless of how much it costs
him, he hasn't 'lost' anything until he tries to sell it.
But for most people, if they want to have a car like that, they are way
better off finding somebody who is in some sort of distress and feels the need
to dispose of their blinged-out Pantera. It enables you to buy something
like this for a fraction of the cost to build it. Okay, so maybe you would
prefer a yellow car rather than red, but if it means paying double to build
one from scratch, most people can learn to live with the red!
