don't be so negative about the current crop of cars!  First, a Honda Accord is probably faster than my 1969 mustang.  Just has no soul.  Second, look at camaros, corvettes, mustangs, and some of the current mopars - they actually are pretty cool.  And third, a lot of the younger crowd really enjoys their import crap (miatas, supras, etc) - not my thing, but maybe what they will be excited about in 20 yrs.
The hard part is that anyone with an interest can work on an old car.  Who is going to be able to restore a 2012 porsche, with engine managment computers, transmission computers, heat/radio control modules, computer controlled shocks, rollbars, and steering?  Plus, when you're all done, you have a really expensive car that looks like a VW Beetle and sounds like a hoover vacuum!!
