[DeTomaso] Taillight Housing Extra Socket?

Since it seems to be a socket for a two filament bulb I assume someone
wanted to increase lightpower for taillights and brake lights. The
parking light function is already kinda covered in the basic
configuration. ;-)

My best guess is that a previous owner installed a rear fog light ( for
cars behind to see him in fog or increment weather) when the main lights
are not on.

Or

It could be a parking light, since many european cars park on the side
of
the road, it is lit up when the car is parked in a precarious(sp)
position
to hopefully keep some moron from running into your car.
