[DeTomaso] clutch slave not compressing fully

If you remove the spring and disconnect the slave from the linkage,  you 
should be able to push the slave piston all the way up into the slave  
cylinder. If you can do that, the slave is not the problem. If you can't do that  
something is wrong with the slave.
 
The spring is quite strong. Takes vise grips to install or  remove.
 
If the slave cylinder is ok, something is wrong with the linkage  between 
the slave and the clutch. That linkage should easily move so as to push  the 
slave piston up into the cylinder.
