Most people outside the car hobby (and a surprising number in it) don't
realize the soothing benefits of garage physical therapy: that is, working with
your hands after a stressful day of pushing paper across a desk or pixels
around a screen. Today's jobs are really a constant low level mind/body
irritation to most people. One of the happier guys I ever met quit his job as a
finance VP of a major corporation to open a guitar-strap shop in the downtown
area. He physically made everything himself.

The first and only rule in such a project as yours is, do SOMETHING on the
car every single day! This switches it from a chore to a habit and each time
you finish a section, take your best lady out to dinner (even Arbys
counts!) as a celebration. Before long, the thing will be on the road and you can
tell everyone that you built it yourself. Take lots of photos along the way.
As has been said, it ain't necessarily the destination, it's the journey....
