Charlie,

I'm doing this fix now, and while I let it degrade over time (not many
miles) I'd suggest getting to it.

You might want to review my rear axle articles... (See the site map)

I'll be working on this task later today.

Hi all

How much play in the wheels in the 12- and 6- O'clock direction is
acceptable?

I'm assuming that this is due to wear in the wheel bearings. The car in
question is a factory GT5-S. Can these be adjusted/tightened, or is it new
bearing time?

There is a quite small amount of play, but there is some. Is this something
that needs to be addressed before driving to the gas station or the wheels
will fall off? Is this something that will gradually get worse over time but
could easily continue for another year or two before it becomes urgent?

I have a 1000km trip coming up in 3 weeks, and a 3000 km trip for Le Mans
classic in 3 months.

Thanks all!
