[DeTomaso] NPC - the REAL running of the Bulls

Charles,

I guess as you get older your priorities change. I ran in 1967 and 1968.
It was only for one day each and the first year I learned that the 1 1/2
lane street and sidewalk narrow abruptly at the entrance to the bull ring.
I found it best to move as far to the fence as possible and allow expendable
people to box me in. The second year was better and went without incident.
The most dangerous part as far as I was concerned were the thousands of
skyrockets on wooden stands in the plaza. The night before when they set
them off a few of the rockets went up instead of taking detours into the
crowd. Most of the crowd members were wearing white and read and were
baracho so it didn't seem to matter until they started trying to remove
their burning clothing. Once again I was lucky by being out of the way in
the rear of large bodega. In hind sight it is certainly more exciting than
a tienta but less so that a trip to Siagon in 1966. At this point in my
life I think I would not do it again. Our wedding anniversary is 7-7 so I
find it easy to remember both.

I would rather be 22 again and have fewer memories.
