[DeTomaso] ZF gear oil

Excellent point!  It wasnt leaking when i pulled it out, wired the ring gear, and made it all pretty.  Now, to change the output shaft seal (where the halfshafts attach), I assume I would have to remove the unit again, which I am not ready to do yet!!  Anyone know if it is possible to replace the seal while in the car??  I dont think so.  Justin

If the oozing has slowed down witth conventional 75W-90 I would postulate you have a bad input shaft seal and should replace it! 
 
Personally I would think 75W-140 too thick and viscous for the duty, more akin but not quite as bad as the old used car salesmans trick of sawdust.
