[DeTomaso] ZF gear oil

If the oozing has slowed down witth conventional 75W-90 I would postulate you have a bad input shaft seal and should replace it! 
 
Personally I would think 75W-140 too thick and viscous for the duty, more akin but not quite as bad as the old used car salesmans trick of sawdust.
