No one knows what serial numbers got what engines- only the final
recipients did. Ford stopped producing Clevelands in mid to late '73, but Ford of
Australia continued to cast Cleveland style blocks until 1986, according to
Paul Halsted, the man who actually ran the Aussie operation and who exported at
least 200 blocks to Italy in 1984, enough to supply DeTomaso's Pantera,
Longchamp & Deaauville building through 1986 according to some estimates. Good
article on all this in Australian Muscle Car magazine issue #29.
Then DeTomaso began using 351 Windsors in Panteras and Longchamps two
states of tune- the standard truck engine and a mildly hot-rodded version for
substantially more money. The varient-3 Pantera 90s came with EFI 302s- also in
various states of tune- until the end for all Pantera manufacturing in 1992
(according to Factory records). See upcoming article in Oct POCA News on
such trivia. My best guess- J DeRyke
