[DeTomaso] AC Compressor - Which Toyota Celica unit works

My seat rails had 3/8 thick spacers at each mounting bolt between the floor pan and the rail. The floor pans are lower than stock and had nuts welded on under side of floor pan. The rails were bent and the first seat took hours to remove the allen cap screws, do to seat not wanting to move on rails. The second seat I went under the car and cut/ground the nuts and bolts off rather than fight it from above. I have straightened the rails, spot welded them to 3/8 x1 1/2 x rail length flat stock. The flat stock has holes drilled for access to the roller stop tabs and nuts spot welded on top side of rails.  I trimmed the carpet to allow the flat stock to fit flat on the floor pan. This allows the bolts to come up through the floor with an inside star washer and sealer at bolt head  ( and sealer at bolt holes on top side of pan ). NO more fighting bolt removal in tight area at seat nor need to slide seat rails for removal. This also gave me a little more
clearance under the car as bolt heads are not as thick as old nuts and bolt threads. My seats are not stock and backs are not hinged, so I remove passenger seat to get better access to firewall removal and room to work on things. FWIT_ _ _works for me.  [ Sorry ! for the added weight Jack D ]

I guess most people use the adjustment feature only when they move the seats
back and forth to get to the mounting screws. I have not once during my 14
years of ownership changed the seat position once I had it the way I like
it.

I got my C4 Corvette seats from Gary Herrig (glherrig at yahoo.com) and what a
great job he did. He also did door panels for me.  Check out the pics at the
bottom of the link. Unfortunately, I'm still waiting for my drop floor
panels and carpet, but I hope to get them in within a few weeks.

I posed a question a while back but nobody provided an answer. I have my
stock seat rails and while they would work, I was hoping somebody figured
out a retrofit that would modernize them.  There has to be some honda or
toyota rails that would be far superior to the 39 year old design I have.
Yes, I could put brass rollers, but for the same price at a junk yard, I
could have a much better design.  Anybody?
