[DeTomaso] Laminova Crown Victoria police Interceptor oil to wateroil cooler.

The question is, what is a "plug"? They list a number of inserts under
"Parts" where one is a true block off and the rest are restrictors, i.e.
partial block offs. The more you restrict water flow through the core center
the better oil cooling you get. The drawback of more center restriction is
reduced water flow. My cooler came with the "Ford" type plug and I kept it.
So far I've not seen any engine cooling drawbacks ad I'm pleased with the
oil cooling.

        Larry,

You can get some info here:

        http://www.laminova-online.se/

Go to "oil cooler", and "C43-332", and "Detailed Info". They
say that plugs are for a flow less than 80 L/min. This suggests that we
should cut out the plug.

          Guys,

What I need to know is the water flow direction and the oil in
line on them.

          Thanks,

          Larry - Cleveland

fitting in the pic has the retaining
plate fingers bent around it so the plate doesn't come off it
unless you bend it slightly. The right
fitting slides into the slot before assembly. As you can see the
fittings are free to swivel during
assembly but will probably remain fixed when the retaining plate
is tightened down. I cut the crimped
sleeves off and reused the fittings with new o-rings and new crimp
sleeves when I had new oil lines
made. I can get better pics of the fittings if you want for
reference, I still have an old oil line
          around I think.

I put one on my car, sold one and

lines/hoses on them.... They come
apart like any Aeroquip type fitting, and they turn in a swivel
joint at the hose so you can screw the
fitting into the casting with a wrench without turning the hose.
I kept this one just because I
thought I might use the fittings on something else one of these
days... New fittings would probably
cost more than I paid for this cooler.

like the ones on the Laminova,
actually screw together (or unscrew to take them apart). The
collar is in-fact a big nut. You take
the nut, shove the hose in one end of it, then screw the other
part of the fitting into the other end
of the nut which forces the hose into some grooves in the inside
of the collar.
