And when it has been done, either the owners have come to their senses, or 
the subsequent owners have, and it's been un-done.   Doug Abadie's 
all-aluminum Donovan-powered Pantera is one notable exception--it's a genuinely nice 
conversion.   But it was done out of convenience as much as anything 
else--he already had the motor and no car for it.   I'm sure if he was going to buy 
a motor, he wouldn't have chosen the Donovan-Chevy, but since that's what 
he had, he went with it--and quite well I might add.
