Yes, by some deductive reasoning......the VDO and Veglia Borletti units have a different drive and use a different speedo cable. It sounds like you have the VDO drive which uses a spade end (as opposed to the square drive on the VB unit). You should have the US version unless your car was a grey import and your speedo was way off (which is why I ran into this issue). The angle drive should be stamped with it's ratio, either 1:1 or 1.1:1, (I seem to recall the English MPH unit is the 1:1, but don't quote me on that). Knowing you have the VDO unit any of the vendors should know which is the MPH matched unit.
