I also think that you made a gallant attempt to sidetrack the sale, but there is one downside.
 
By you bidding to win the car, some poor bastard paid even more for this sorrowful lump of a car then they should have otherwise.
 
With a little luck, the knucklehead that bought the car will stumble upon this board and proceed to unwind the deal.
