Yes of course, it must have been cheaper to produce the one pice plastic
unit,instead of the two piece metal one.And in addition this one is also
fastened with some special knuled head screws not cheap,whereas the later
has more common types.Definitively both weight and cost savings :)

And I just checked, mine is like yours.  I thought it was covered with
material, but it's just molded black plastic...
