[DeTomaso] Gauge panel question

Never thought about it,but upon taking a closer look,i can see that the
plasic panel is as you say a two piece unit.A framework with the chromed
edge and glued to that, the black structured insert with the holes for the
switches and meters .Not a true one piece unit.Are the pieces of your
plastic panel glued together?

Then you have a 3rd type.  Of my 4 cars, the first 3 were two pod cars,
#3644 for instance, with a metal plate covered in vinyl with a chrome trim
piece.  The last is a '74, #6643 with a plastic panel but it is not 1 peice.
It is a back panel which incorporates the chrome edge and a black plastic
insert where the guages rest.  I've had spares for both but have never seen
a true one peice unit.
