[DeTomaso] Where to buy a single Keith Black KB148 piston

Hi Barry

I still have the engine in the car - my mechanic is pretty sure he can change it without taking the engine out of the car.

I have read about the large ring gap. I do not think that this is the problem. The engine have driven 14.000 miles according to previous owner. And if the ring gab was incorrect it would probably have happent earlier.

from the kb website:
"Excessive spark advance, lean fuel mixture or too much compression for the fuel and cam used will make heat sufficient to butt piston rings with as much as .060" ring end gap. The entire top land can expand enough to contact the cylinder walls, when close to melt down temperatures are reached"

I think this was the problem as the previous owner had changed the timing just before shipping the car. And because I didnt hear any pinging I thought that it wouldn't be a problem to take the car for a spin. But I guess I was wrong :(
