HAHAHA! So thats why its called a "jam nut".From hard experiences one sooner
or later learn to think of what will happen when you apply great forces to
loosen up nuts/bolts,and they suddenly loosen up.Better be prepared :)

You must hold the tie rod end with one wrench (there are crude  flats on the
tie rod end) and loosen the jam nut with a second wrench. It's  called a
"jam nut" because when it comes loose it will jam your fingers against
something.
