[DeTomaso] Direct Floor Mounting of Driver's Seat

I'm thinking about removing the adjustable tracks and bolting the driver's seat directly to the floor to maximize headroom. I assume this is a 'drill holes in the floor and use bolts with large fender washers through the floor and up into the existing seat threaded holes' kind of an activity. Sounds simple, except how to locate where to drill the holes. Any tricks that work???
