The drive cable is likely worn. The cable is 3 feet long but the wiper
mechanisms in the cowl only hit about 2" of it, and always in the same place, which
wears the cable at that spot. This is yet another example of an area that
needs grease from time to time, but probably hasn't seen any since the factory
assembled the car.
To fix: remove the right front wheel. Remove the wiper mechanism with the
inner drive cable. Unbolt the wiper drive cover and unfasten the cable where its
anchored inside. Spin the cable 180 degrees (NOT end-to-end) and refasten.
Reassemble everything WITH WATERPROOF GREASE. This usually fixes the problem. The
next time, you'll likely need a new drive cable. Good luck- J Deryke
