FWIW,
 
There are two switches involved in parking the  wipers:
 
#1: When the wiper manual control is turned OFF, a  set of contacts in this 
switch routes power to the wiper motor park  switch.
 
#2: The wiper motor park switch, part of the wiper motor  mechanism, is 
closed when the wiper blades are not  parked. When the wiper manual  control switch 
is  turned OFF power will be routed to the wiper motor via the park switch 
until the  blades are parked and the park switch opens.
