Although there have been many sound suggestions, ideas and solutions as to 
why your engine is having intermitant heating issused I believe the solution 
to your problem is ulitmately going to require a new engine:)
Just because a part is new does not mean it is defective. I have had several 
experieces with brand new thermostats not working properly. I have had much 
better results with the Robert Shaw and Motorcraft parts.
