[DeTomaso] Dynojet Question

I am new to chassis dyno (Never even seen one) and will have my car done in the morning for a regular dyno and carb adjustments if needed.

I had a couple of questions:

1.  Is third gear the best gear to run HP/Torque?  I seem to recall reading this due to ratios on the ZF.
2.  Where exactly should I put the safety strap attachments at the rear of the car?

Is there anything else I need to know or do?
