[DeTomaso] Great fuel injection setup!

Jack,

I remember seeing the Longchamp too! I don't know if the EFI stuff came from the factory, but the intake manifold may have.
Kjell Iseborn here in Sweden has a 1990 GT5S (9558), and he has a set of Weber IDFs (48mm) that by all signs were put on at the factory.
See pics of Kjell's shining 408 http://web.telia.com/~u87500374/pics/90%20GT5S%20-%20IDF.pdf
Kjell checked the manifold inside-out as he stroked the engine, but couldn't find any names or numbers.

My Jenvey throttle bodies would fit his intake, since they have the IDF bolt pattern (and the same bore).
When I designed my manifold I originally did it to fit IDF Webers, since IDA Webers would be too tall.
But throttle bodies with an IDA bolt pattern are as low as the IDFs.
So if I was to design another manifold I'd use the IDA pattern.
Mainly because the bores center-to-center distance is almost the same as the distance between the intake ports.
As opposed to the more narrow IDFs.
See drawings at Jenvey http://www.jenvey.co.uk/~Drawing.htm

Regards,
/Stefan

There are very few (if any) manifolds for IDF throttle bodies (for Clevelands). Most are for IDA throttle bodies, which are wider and taller than IDF and will not fit under the engine screen.

Stefan, a the factory tour in '96 I saw a DeTomaso Longchamp with Swiss plates that had EFI on a 351-C using Weber/Marelli throttle bodies. I've never seen any since. Were those one-offs or are they actually available? The language barrier prevented me from talking much with the owner. Thanks- J Deryke
