[DeTomaso] 73L dying - Resolved !

 I guess I will put a 1.4 ohm 40W resistor in series with a 30 Amp fuse
in the fusebox area, then I will check the voltage.

I am not sure I have the original coil, looks newer. Maybe my father
changed it, I wish I could ask him. The coil is an Accel something
performance with a 12V rating, but who knows if 12V is really 12V or
just to differentiate against a 6V version.

I will see if it runs poorly with a series resistor due to low coil
voltage.

Many cars have that pink wire totally burned as a result of leaving the 
key on with the engine off while listening to the radio. If the engine 
stops while the bumper on the points comes to rest on a cam load, all is

well but that usually is not the case. A recent look at an early wire 
harness revealed the pink wire had been totally burned. Sometime this 
will cause insulation on other wires in the bundle to melt and short
too.
