[DeTomaso] Is this as bad as it sounds (NASCAR)

I'm not a big fan, but I'll say this much. . .

I think the sport needs to be opened up again.  Let the mechanics and  
engineers try to make more power with less gas.  I figure half the  
innovation we could have had in the last 20 years has been stagnated  
by the idea of restrictor plates and such.  Where is the fun in that?   
It shouldn't just be one driver against another, it should be one TEAM  
against another: Pit crew, engineers, designers, builders, mechanics  
and drivers.  May the best team win.

If one team seems to walk away with it all the time, then the other  
guys need to figure out why, is it engine, suspension, transmission,  
driving skill?  This is what creates -creativity-, thinking outside  
the box, coming up with new ideas.  I think that's why NASCAR is so  
boring anymore.
