I have been there, it is great. Saw the Elvis Pantera, but was a real treat was seeing Steve McQueen's D-Type Jag. So beautiful. In my combined 25years plus owning 2 Panteras I have never been a member of POCA or PI. I have occasionallyposted on the e-mail list and slightly more often on the PI forum. I have been a member of what I feel is a very unique, outstandinggroup of individuals which I consider a true representation of the “REAL”Pantera Club. This club has no BOD, no by-laws, no membership dues etc. It started with my first contact with Gary Hall in the 70s.He patiently helped me with Pantera #4060. And even had me join his wonderfulfamily for dinner when I visited LA. When I purchased #4134 in 94 I wasfortunate enough to find local help in the form of “The Pantera Place”‘s MikeDaily and Dick Koch. Hands on help for me the mechanically challenged alongwith countless phone calls. Through the years I have been blessed to have hadJack Deryke patiently respond to my countless e-mail questions I was too embarrassedto ask on the list or forum. And Bill Taylor, just friggin WoW! Years ago he fabricated for me the tools and aspecial jig to remove my a-arm bushings. Jon Hass (Pantera Electronics) the quiet engineer who designs the hellout of Pantera specific components. He has even helped me with Panteraelectrical issues not related to his products. Going as far as to help me withJeep electrical problems. I have had owners send me parts that they could have easilysold, given for free. Not even willing to take reimbursement for shipping. Iprobably will never meet these wonderful people in person but consider themfriends. Without their invaluable assistance I probably would have sold my caryears ago.These individuals and countless other Pantera owners arewhat has made Pantera ownership for me a pleasure. I may be wrong here but Iwould be hard pressed to think there are other car clubs with this many kind,generous and supportive individuals. The reason I felt inclined to write this e-mail is notreally for current owners. All of you I know have similar experiences to mine.It is for the new or more importantly perspective Pantera owners. This e-mailis for them, those lurking just wanting to see what kind of support networkexists in the Pantera world. Dear Rob, From what little I know..... This is the first time I have heard of this problem. I suppose that if the poor Pantera is eaten up with secret rust, then it could flex enough to break the glass, but that would a first. There are a lot of rusty Panteras that don't break the rear glass. Perhaps there is some abnormality of the manufacturing process so that the fit is too tight or that there may be some small offending ridge of weld or metal that is stressing the glass. I would suggest that the simplest approach would be to pull the glass and closely inspect with your glass man and re-install if no problems are found. Don't just go once, much like the Auto Museum up here in Saratoga Springs, it is constantly changing. Also if your in the LA area, be sure to see the NHRA museum in Pomona. I'll give you goose bumps. Here is his response. I removed all pictures of his car and his interior article, so I think I have done my due diligence. Even though as a volunteer officer of the club he gave up the rights to his intellectual property when he put it on the site, so I probably removed more than I should have. He is now saying he wants the whole site removed. Just to clarify for all POCA members and readers, I would like to make it clear that I resigned as Interim Profiles Editor, on July 20th, thus relinquishing my Board position and vote. My reasoning was to specifically NOT be involved with the politics of this Club. I remain neutral as there are valid arguments from all perspectives of what has transpired. I continue to have my own opinions and do my own thinking. I stepped up to volunteer to serve as Interim Editor after Mr. Haney's resignation. On the date I resigned, I relinquished any and all connection with political involvement. I made this clear to all Board Members. My decision was not representative of taking any side. I made this as a personal decision and for no other reason than to excuse myself from an unpleasant and hostile environment. Thus as of July 20th, I had asked to not be involved, that also meant it was inappropriate to name me in surveys or anything politically or Board related. I was unaware of these and took no part in their composition. Thank you for your understanding.
