I have heard that the stock levers can break, this seems like cheap insurance. I bought one a while back, for probably twice the price of this one.

Guys i need advice please
I have a nice original 1972 pre L pantera
i have some cooling problems in traffic even though i am in Ireland and
its never very hot here
rad and fans are original. with no vents in front hood
i notice that the hood got extremely hot and i got some boiling over
the fans were working but they are the originals and not very powerful
i am considering putting vents in the hood and fitting a new rad and
fans kit assembly (PPC Fluidyne rad ) from pantera parts
this the one with puller fans but i want to keep it upright
does this plan make sense
i dont need a massive improvement in cooling - i only had this slight
boiling over in the swirl tank once
also i fitted a new temp sender on the engine front and it read about
160 degrees until now its reading 230 degress all the time with only
veery small vasriation in reading even when engine is cold
any quick ideas on why it would suddenly go wrong ?
i would appreciate advice
best regards owen cooke

Howdy folks,
I receive the daily digest and every since it was "fixed" to have the
ability to attach pics my list of emails is a scrambled mess.
It's been like that for months or since the change.
It seems like I get endless resends of old "original message" posts and
then I get "references" which list everybody's email.
I counted one that listed 432 referenced emails.
I have just been wading through it all to get to the actual new posts but
thought someone might
have a fix. It is also that way when I view it on Explorer.
Is there something in settings I might change? Is it Gmail?
Anybody?
BTW thank you Kurt for keeping it going!
Thanks,
Matt

Terry,
Hall Pantera sells a bolt-on spacer like you describe although I don't think it is hub-centric.
The red Euro GTS that conked out in France the other day is fitted with a similar, European produced version that is guaranteed to be of the highest quality because its approved for use on Swiss roads and the Swiss vehicle inspection is notoriously tough. I will get that manufacturer info for you.
Personally I hate the idea. Besides looking weird, I think it places undue stress on the suspension components. The Swiss car is already suffering from axle wear on one side. While this is a common failure and so can't be entirely blamed on these spacers, intuitively I think they probably exacerbate the situation.
Save your sheckels and get a nice set of repro 10-inch wheels from Marvic and that will solve all your problems. :)

Good Morgn Everyone,
I have the original radiator. Should I think about getting a new radiator?
I was wondering how many of you still have the original radiator?
Mine works fine. Other than new fans when the old ones died, my radiator has been a solid performer.
Even in Los Wages it was great. Trip up to Mt Charleston, Valley of Fire, no problems.
So how long can it last? 42 years is a long time!!

If this just happened suddenly, Check the thermostat first, and like Chuck
said, make sure it is a Cleveland not a more common Windsor thermostat. It
is otherwise the Radiator. No amount of fans can cool a clogged radiator
much less one that was not that well designed in the first place. A new
Fluidyne with the proper NoRossion water additive to keep the Lucas anodes
at bay, will make an unbelievable difference.

Yes you do, Chris . . . Well, in one sense at least. Some have said
that
when you and Pandora came together, that you "really bought the farm
this
time . . .". So, by that reasoning, selling the farm and selling
Pandora
could mean one ant the same. I know that is not in your plans . . .

So I finally got the organic certification for the farm, it has been 2
years. In the next few weeks I'll be picking & selling a few acres
worth of avocados to a local distributor.
Now for the Pantera content. Once I get paid for the avocados, I'll be
able to afford to ship my cars (push button Pantera & convertible
Corvette) from Seattle to SoCal, some time mid-summer. Two years of
being separated from my Pantera, I can't wait to tear up some roads.

Interesting. 2 years ago, when preparing some things for publication for
the Lone Star Fun Rally in Houston, we found their prices to be 50%
higher
than what we got locally. This was reported to the Board with the
recommendation that they might want to look at getting some bides for
the
magazine and newsletter. Not surprisingly, it was ignored.
So on to bigger and better things; Laurie, congratulations and thanks
for
taking on the project. I hope we all step up and give you plenty of
material for the magazine.

Facts have been provided showing that we were offered an $8,000.

I use a thin and waterproof sound blocking/dampening material from
Cascade
Audio, VB-2HD, which is ideally suited for a vapor barrier on a car
door.
It has an adhesive backing that holds the material to the door.

What do you guys think, leave the plastic on or bin it?

Michael,
Here you go: http://performance-braking.co.uk/
Run by a guy named Jonathan Freeth, who was the head of Girling racing
division when Girling went belly-up. He bought all the inventory,
blueprints and tooling and continues to service all Girling products,
and can even provide new castings for some models.
He probably offers a rebuild service too.
If you do it yourself be sure to read the manual before you pick up
spanner one, and know exactly what needs to be done in order to compress
the piston. Get it wrong and you will destroy the parking brake function.
Cheers!

Is the international option discussed/mentioned on the POCA web site?
If one opts for the international, will hard copies be available to
purchase in case there is one desired?

Good Morgn Everyone,
I have the original radiator. Should I think about getting a new
radiator?
I was wondering how many of you still have the original radiator?
Mine works fine. Other than new fans when the old ones died, my
radiator has been a solid performer.
Even in Los Wages it was great. Trip up to Mt Charleston, Valley of
Fire, no problems.
So how long can it last? 42 years is a long time!!

If this just happened suddenly, Check the thermostat first, and like
Chuck
said, make sure it is a Cleveland not a more common Windsor thermostat.
It
is otherwise the Radiator. No amount of fans can cool a clogged
radiator
much less one that was not that well designed in the first place. A new
Fluidyne with the proper NoRossion water additive to keep the Lucas
anodes
at bay, will make an unbelievable difference.

rad and fans are original. with no vents in front hood
i notice that the hood got extremely hot and i got some boiling over
the fans were working but they are the originals and not very powerful
i am considering putting vents in the hood and fitting a new rad and
fans kit assembly (PPC Fluidyne rad ) from pantera parts
this the one with puller fans but i want to keep it upright
does this plan make sense
i dont need a massive improvement in cooling - i only had this slight
boiling over in the swirl tank once
also i fitted a new temp sender on the engine front and it read about
160 degrees until now its reading 230 degress all the time with only
veery small vasriation in reading even when engine is cold
any quick ideas on why it would suddenly go wrong ?
i would appreciate advice

First, I am a Spacecraft, Computer Science, Aerospace guy. They keep me far away from the hardware if they can. ;-)
Most people today are involved in the Juno JOI happening this weekend. This was what I could glean from the NASA
websites.
This piece (I have for show when I talk) is Kapton with 20 layers of dacron netting between silver Kapton-fiberglass fabric layers.
This cuts down on heat transfer between layers. Since this is only for show, mine is not gold, but most are.
The amount of gold used on an entire spacecraft can be measured in ounces. Gold is a uniquely workable metal and the foil
is used primarily as radiation shield. It's more about reflection and you only need a very thin amount. Once you leave the
protective cocoon of the earths magnetosphere (1m miles out), the radiation is extreme. Plus gold does not corrode.
It requires less care and maintenance to keep mission-ready than it's cheaper competitors, silver, copper or aluminum.
Astronauts visors are polycarbonate plastic coated with a thin layer of gold. Both IR and visible light can enter our eye's retina
equally well but our eyes have visible receptors but not IR ones. If you encounter intense visible light those receptors will warn you
to turn away. But with intense IR you would not realize your eyes are being burned. Do you still want to go to Mars? Hmmm?

No, but HOLES are another problem. The wheels are machined from a single block of aluminum, and the skin is
only 0.75 mm thick. Some wheels have been punctured several times by solid hard, pointy lava rock.

Thanks. And to brake from 160,000 mph to 14,000 mph was fun too!! ;-))
Only took 35 min. Jupiter is bad-a$$. Or should I say RAD-A$$.

Good Morgn
Everyone,
I have the original radiator. Should
I think about getting a new
radiator?
I was wondering how many of you still have
the original radiator?
Mine works fine. Other than new fans
when the old ones died, my
radiator has been a solid performer.
Even in Los Wages it was great. Trip
up to Mt Charleston, Valley of
Fire, no problems.
So how long can it
last? 42 years is a long time!!

If this just happened suddenly, Check the
thermostat first, and like
Chuck
said, make sure it is a Cleveland not a
more common Windsor thermostat.
It
is otherwise the Radiator. No amount of
fans can cool a clogged
radiator
much less one that was not that well
designed in the first place. A new
Fluidyne with the proper NoRossion water
additive to keep the Lucas
anodes
at bay, will make an unbelievable
difference.

i notice that the hood got extremely hot

the fans were working but they are the

i am considering putting vents in the hood

this the one with puller fans but i

does this plan make sense
i dont need a massive improvement in

also i fitted a new temp sender on the

160 degrees until now its reading
230 degress all the time with only

Yes you do, Chris . . . Well, in one
sense at least. Some have said
that
when you and Pandora came together, that
you "really bought the farm
this
time . . .". So, by that reasoning,
selling the farm and selling
Pandora
could mean one ant the same. I know
that is not in your plans . . .

So I finally got the organic certification
for the farm, it has been 2
years. In the next few weeks I'll be
picking & selling a few acres
worth of avocados to a local distributor.
Now for the Pantera content. Once I get
paid for the avocados, I'll be
able to afford to ship my cars (push
button Pantera & convertible
Corvette) from Seattle to SoCal, some time
mid-summer. Two years of
being separated from my Pantera, I can't
wait to tear up some roads.

Interesting. 2 years ago, when preparing
some things for publication
for
the Lone Star Fun Rally in Houston, we
found their prices to be 50%
higher
than what we got locally. This was
reported to the Board with the
recommendation that they might want to
look at getting some bides for
the
magazine and newsletter. Not surprisingly,
it was ignored.
So on to bigger and better things; Laurie,
congratulations and thanks
for
taking on the project. I hope we all step
up and give you plenty of
material for the magazine.

I use a thin and waterproof sound
blocking/dampening material from
Cascade
Audio, VB-2HD, which is ideally suited for
a vapor barrier on a car
door.
It has an adhesive backing that holds the
material to the door.

Please spread the word!
We have created an easy to
remember, simple web address for people
to
sign up online.
Simply go to
[5]www.poca.com/join
to have people sign up.
You can sign up people on your
smart phone at car shows, events,
etc.
In addition, you can now choose
the International option; no
matter
where you live, and receive a
full POCA membership for $50.00
instead
of $75.00. What this option
gives you is to receive "Digital only"
Newsletters and Profiles in full
color pdf format.
Note: If they want posted
hardcopies then they would choose the
Domestic option for the standard
$75.00,
Don't forget we have the 3 5 1
program, they more members you get

Michael,
Here you go: [192]http://performance-braking.co.uk/
Run by a guy named Jonathan Freeth, who
was the head of Girling racing
division when Girling went belly-up. He
bought all the inventory,
blueprints and tooling and continues to
service all Girling products,
and can even provide new castings for some
models.
He probably offers a rebuild service too.
If you do it yourself be sure to read the
manual before you pick up
spanner one, and know exactly what needs
to be done in order to
compress
the piston. Get it wrong and you will
destroy the parking brake
function.
Cheers!

Is the international option
discussed/mentioned on the POCA web site?
If one opts for the international, will
hard copies be available to
purchase in case there is one desired?

No, but HOLES are another problem. The wheels are machined from a
single block of aluminum, and the skin is
only 0.75 mm thick. Some wheels have been punctured several times by
solid hard, pointy lava rock.
Here's a good explanation;

Good Morgn
Everyone,
I have the original radiator. Should
I think about getting a new
radiator?
I was wondering how many of you still have
the original radiator?
Mine works fine. Other than new fans
when the old ones died, my
radiator has been a solid performer.
Even in Los Wages it was great. Trip
up to Mt Charleston, Valley of
Fire, no problems.
So how long can it
last? 42 years is a long time!!

If this just happened suddenly, Check the
thermostat first, and like
Chuck
said, make sure it is a Cleveland not a
more common Windsor thermostat.
It
is otherwise the Radiator. No amount of
fans can cool a clogged
radiator
much less one that was not that well
designed in the first place. A new
Fluidyne with the proper NoRossion water
additive to keep the Lucas
anodes
at bay, will make an unbelievable
difference.

Guys i need advice please
I have a nice original 1972 pre L pantera
i have some cooling problems in
traffic even though i am in Ireland
and
its never very hot here
rad and fans are original. with no vents
in front hood
i notice that the hood got extremely hot
and i got some boiling over
the fans were working but they are the
originals and not very powerful
i am considering putting vents in the hood
and fitting a new rad and
fans kit assembly (PPC Fluidyne rad ) from
pantera parts
this the one with puller fans but i
want to keep it upright
does this plan make sense
i dont need a massive improvement in
cooling - i only had this slight
boiling over in the swirl tank once
also i fitted a new temp sender on the
engine front and it read about
160 degrees until now its reading
230 degress all the time with only
veery small vasriation in reading
even when engine is cold
any quick ideas on why it would suddenly
go wrong ?
i would appreciate advice

Yes you do, Chris . . . Well, in one
sense at least. Some have said
that
when you and Pandora came together, that
you "really bought the farm
this
time . . .". So, by that reasoning,
selling the farm and selling
Pandora
could mean one ant the same. I know
that is not in your plans . . .

So I finally got the organic certification
for the farm, it has been 2
years. In the next few weeks I'll be
picking & selling a few acres
worth of avocados to a local distributor.
Now for the Pantera content. Once I get
paid for the avocados, I'll be
able to afford to ship my cars (push
button Pantera & convertible
Corvette) from Seattle to SoCal, some time
mid-summer. Two years of
being separated from my Pantera, I can't
wait to tear up some roads.
