Steve,I've used professional products harmonic balancers on my last 3 windsor builds. A 302,a 408,and a 427.They all had different balances.  302 was a 50 oz,408 was a 28oz,and the 427 was 0oz,or  internally balanced. What is neat about the professional products balancers is the weight bolts on so the same balancers can be used in any application. There are also different bolt on spacers available for pulley spacing. For your current problem, I would go with Mike Drew's suggestion and use timing tape. Once you set your timing you should never have to retime it unless you have a problem down the road,so tape durability shouldn't be a factor. Sent from an ipotato.
