For years I have used a standard Motorcraft FL1 A oil filter. It was always reviewed as a good quality, reasonably price and still USA manufactured. I was traveling near the Summit Racing here in GA and decided to purchase the uprated Ford Racing filter FL1A  CM-6731.  After installing it leaked. I tightened it again using a piece of inner tube maybe another 1/8 of a turn and the leak was worse. Ther filter's gasket looked okay. It may be leaking from the canister seam. I did a quick review search and found others had experienced the same problem. I installed a Mobil 1 filter which I have been using on the family's daily drivers for years. No leaks. And gotta love Summit Racing refunding the purchase over the phone.
