[DeTomaso] NPC!!! Wanted: Shipping Container Source.......west coast....

Spending a lot of time in Oakland of late, I can tell you containers are stacked 10 high at the port facilities. Maybe find a port based direct to market seller and arrange your own transport? There are other sellers who will do all the modifications adding windows, doors & conversion etc. for you if you don't want the hassle.

A reefer shipping container has the reefer unit built into the length, so you lose some footage and only doors on one end but retrofitting a standard conex with a Bard wall mount A/C is actually pretty easy if you want a comfortable workspace. For work we recently installed a couple 40's as lab facilities for assaying, there are also companies that will supply easy install insulation for either inside or outside.

Each jurisdiction has a different interpretation of 'temporary' structure/storage, I know here it's only 30 days!

Hi Steve,
I don’t have a current source, and I will be looking soon. However, I can tell you don’t look on Craig’s list, at least not to start.

I recently looked through Facebook marketplace and found -local- people. I know there are local folks because we drive by some places that have these; 10’, 20’, 40’, etc. prices looked a lot lower than the “other” places too.

So when I get serious I’ll be looking on Facebook marketplace first. Then if that fails I’ll just drive around to the places I’ve seen them piled up out front.

This is truly a case where Google and the Internet is not your friend.
