[DeTomaso] 3 Wire ALT REWIRE Instructions/Help!?

You can also sense on the battery wire on the starter relay. That is a very good connection to the positive terminal on the battery. Normally there is no current flow through that wire so there will be no voltage drop.
That said, I have the sense wire connected there and my ammeter frequently flutters throughout the scale. I suspect the reason is that the wiring from the alternator through the ammeter to the battery doesn’t handle the 130A alternator very well. I also have a 60A ammeter. I will need to experiment some with this.
