Hopefully when it pops you are moving quick. If it gets burned on hot exhaust, it turns very toxic. R12 generates phosgene gas (nerve gas). R134a generates HF acid (attacks your bones and other serious issues). Hold your breath until it clears...

The difference between a binary and a trinary pressure safety switch is confusing and I once shared the same view that Mike has. But that view is incorrect.
