[DeTomaso] Correct amount of oil for an Armondo 10 qt pan.

I'm not trying to be obtuse, but if I had a 35 qt oil Pan and only put 10 qt in, nothing would register on the dipstick. If I put in 40 qt then obviously the oil level will be very high on the dipstick. So, if I put in 35 qt, that should probably register just fine on the dipstick. I don't understand how that could not be the case...

Of course, this demonstrates why I'm not a mechanic!

Sincerely,

Chris

Chris,

The optimal level for oil in an oil pan is determined by that engine’s engineers. That optimal level is marked on the dipstick.

If you bought an oil pan that was labeled as a 35 quart oil pan, would you pour 35 quarts into the engine just because that’s what the oil pan says it can hold??

Old pan, new different pan, the dipstick marks will remain correct.

Always.

Larry
