Very sad news. I had the pleasure to speak with Ron atvarious POCA events over the years, most recently over dinner while at the FunRally in Phoenix. Ron was one of the most enthusiastic Pantera owners I’ve evermet and a fantastic person, always willing to share and help others!
His custom GT5-S project is an incredible story, with many creative and well engineered changes. At dinner, Ron was eager to share many details and photos ofthe latest progress. Really impressive stuff! Ron was incredibly innovativeand constantly evolving and improving his build plans. Hopefully that car willbe “completed”, as he last envisioned it, and share a spot alongside his GTS ondisplay at his museum.

> Longtime POCA member and car fanatic Ron Wade suddenlypassed away of a heart attack today. He was a regular attendee at the FunRally, even driving his Saleen S7 some years. He was proud to be the originalowner of the very last US-spec Pantera GTS, and had spent decades trying tocreate a Kustom Kar hot rod GT5-S using a real Amerisport GT5-S as itsbase. I just spoke with him a couple ofweeks ago and he was very excited about it, telling me he now had five peopleworking on it full time, with the ambition of finishing it this year and tryingto compete for the Ridler award at the Detroit Autorama.
