[DeTomaso] advice needed

Chris,

The holes in the hinge are slotted to allow fore-aft movement. But you probably have an up-down problem. The decklid was probably fitted perfectly but your new shocks are exerting upward pressure and may be bending the decklid. You can use fender washers as shims between the top of the hinge and underside of the roof to lower the decklid if that’s what you need. If it dies truly need to move back you will have to loosen both sides and pull both back so the decklid isn’t cocked and the rear corners hit. 

I use wooden paint stirring paddles between the sides of the decklid and the body at the rear. Then loosen the hinges and carefully pull it rearward if necessary. The latch may also require adjustment. 

You may have manufactured this problem with your new struts. If they are really too strong they will bend the decklid and permanently damage it.
