Randy,

EXACTLY the car you say you want is for sale on Bring a Trailer right now:

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1972-detomaso-pantera-74/

I don’t knows what swamp Beverly Hills (which is actually located in an LA ghetto and not Beverly Hills) dredges their cars up from but most are really only fit for parting out. If you paid $50k for one of their heaps you would likely spend $100-150k more for restoration and then be left with a $100k car (years later).

The thing going against the BAT car linked above is its originality. Buyers will pay a tremendous premium for it and if you don’t care so much (as I don’t) then they become cost prohibitive. The BAT car would be a $50k car if it had sensible improvements that made it a better car. But because it’s so stock it’s currently sitting at $75k and rising….

Pantera. Something made during the Ford years. I've been interested
in the car since I was in high school but lots of things got in the
   way
of owning one. Now I'm on the hunt and excited to find a good daily
driver that needs some TLC and a good home. Let me know if you know
someone who is interested in passing along a well worn early Pantera.
Related to my hunt, there is a Pantera for sale at Beverly Hills Car
Club. It look like it is pretty rusty, has anyone seen this car in
person? Would you pass along your impressions please? It doesn't fit
my base criteria but may work if the price is right.
I hope to meet some of you over the next few months as I continue my
     search.
     Take care,
     Randy Stevens
