In the video it appears to be an extremely light shift motion on the lever so likely not true manual but a Tiptronic style electronic shift , note the R, N or P preselect buttons on the dash.

Not sure what they are using for a transaxle / gearbox but it's straight cut gears and the gearbox whine is unbefitting of a supercar, I know this s only the Prototype, but that hideous noise isn't good press at all. At Le Mans Classic Norman told us they were developing their own variant of a V12, in this video he says production cars are a supercharged V8. One of the 3 P72's at Le Mans wore a Michigan license plate and was the Roush test mule for the engine, it had the spartan race interior of the 'Isabelle' car but had been rewrapped on the exterior.

The P72 uses a sequential manual gearbox, like a motorcycle, as opposed to a traditional production automobile five- or six-speed.

In all likelihood, it’s a paddle-shift gearbox with the hydraulics replaced by manual activation. Norman Choi is extremely friendly but he is more than a little bit coy, and is reluctant to share too many details about these cars since the production cars will differ (perhaps greatly) in various ways.

I have to say that the public response to the P72 has been overwhelming. It garners attention like nothing I’ve ever seen.
