[DeTomaso] Dennis A vidio

Hey al,
I just spoke with Dennis.  Yes, he was running the Campy magnesium
wheels with race rubber as Mike said.  He had the other wheel failure on
the way to the event, but always changed wheels before teching for the
race, so he had them with him.   He had the damage assessed and found
the brake caliper was also busted... so it was replaced by a shop in
Vegas that happened to have a replacement handy.

A fire evaluator later determined the rear rotor had been dragging
(probably due to a sticking replacement caliper). Dennis never noticed
the brakes dragging during the next couple of days in Ely before the
race.  Anyway, the rest is correct, brake line failure, hot header,
FOOM!  And a magnesium wheel dutifully cremated so a Phoenix could rise
from the ashes.

:)
